Confirming his popularity as being intact and extending his stay as Gor Mahia Chairperson for yet another four years, Ambrose Rachier says he is ready to lift Gor to their next era; An expansion era.

Rachier, who will see his tenure hit 21 years when he retires in 2029, was elected again as Gor chair in a hotly contested election held on Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

The elections went on peacefully in the end after a sprinkling of crowd trouble took place before the elections begun with a section of supporters calling for the elections to be postponed.

Police officers manning the elections were forced to lob teargas to stop the crowd from causing chaos.

Rachier, who was close to being elected unnoposed before a competitor appeared at the last minute, has been elected Gor chairperson after garnering 658 votes against Dolfina Odhiambo who bagged 456 votes in the elections that were managed by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC.

Rachier hopes to be able to take Gor to a new era of expansion and accountability.

The club has been actively trying to build a new stadium and Rachier is on record saying that he will approach that situation again once re-elected.

He also promised to initiate and build better structures to support the first team as well as the club's youth setup.

Sally Bolo was elected as the new Gor Mahia Vice Chair after winning with the race with 610 votes against Victor Mbaka who got 488 votes.

She was elated to be elected and promised to lead the club to better tidings.

"It is with great humility that I, Sally Bolo, accept the honour you have bestowed on me to serve as vice Chairperson of this institution that we all love and cherish. Gor Mahia has, since 1968, put smiles on our faces with great performances on the pitch locally and internationally," she said after being elected.

"We therefore owe it to the club to give our best in management and match the great performance our players have put together over the years. I pledge to give Gor Mahia the very best and work with fellow elected leaders and the secretariat for the glory of the club. "

Nick Arum was elected the new Gor Mahia Secretary General, having floored the incumbent Sam Ocholla with 582 votes against 501 votes in a close election that whittled down to two candidates after radio host Gidi Ogidi pulled out two days ago.

Arum was expected to give the controversial Ocholla a run for his money considering a number of issues that affected the club in the last three years were blamed on his tenure.

In the race to be the new Gor Mahia treasurer, Gerphas Okuku defeated Philip Nyakwana by 527 votes to 524 to replace Dolphina Odhiambo who contested for the position of chairperson.
